PROBLEMS OF TEXTILE DUST EXTRACTION PROCESS

Textile dust, or textile fibres, is divided into vegetable fibres, animal fibres and inorganic fibres. For our purpose, we use only textile dust. Textile dust arises from the production process of any fabric. The production processes in the textile industry can be divided into two basic groups: mechanical operations (spinning, weaving, knitting) and refining (wet processing, where the main utility properties of the textile are restored). Significant emissions of dust particles also occur in industrial laundries, mainly during the drying process. 

 

Conventional filter units cannot be used for the filtration or separation of textile dust, as textile fibres tend to clump together and form a blanket when they touch each other. In a conventional filtration unit, the clumps of textile fibres would fill the space between the filter elements and permanently clog the filtration unit. The textile dust is separated by rotary filters, with continuous regeneration of the filter drum by the vacuum system.

The extraction of textile dust is carried out by means of a central extraction duct with connection to the extraction hoods. The extraction ducts are smooth pipe parts connected by flanges. For the extraction of textile dust, a system of connecting pipes by rivets or self-tapping screws must not be used. Any sharp spike protruding into the inner part of the duct would cause the duct to become asleep. The dust is fed through the central extraction pipe to the rotary filter. The rotary filter drum is equipped with a filter fabric around its circumference, on the outside of which the textile fibres are separated. Regeneration of the filter drum is carried out continuously by the dust extraction system. The suction brushes regenerate the surface of the rotary drum in one 360° rotation of the drum each time. The filter drum regeneration system consists of a high pressure fan and a cyclone separator. The vent of the cyclone separator is routed back to the drum filter inlet.
