Pneumatically operated double flaps are designed for removing waste from the filtration plant. This type of equipment is often used in industrial applications where air intrusion through the waste path needs to be minimized even at very high vacuum pressures, such as in vacuum systems. The double flapper works on the principle of one flapper opening while the other is closed. This ensures that waste is removed without drawing ambient air into the filter unit. This system also has the advantage of allowing continuous operation without having to stop the filtration process. Each flap is driven by a pneumatic cylinder. When the flap is in the open position, it allows the waste to be taken out of the filtration unit and transferred to the other, closed flap. Once this process is complete, the flapper closes again and the second flapper opens to allow the process to continue. The entire system is controlled by a control unit which ensures that the movement of the two flaps is synchronised according to the needs of the specific application. This allows the waste removal process to be optimised.
