Dedusting of the biomass boiler

We have implemented a system of biomass boiler dedusting with the help of our filtration equipment G&G Ceramic JET. The G&G Ceramic JET filtration unit with ceramic filter inserts with a maximum operating temperature of 900°C was used. The regeneration of the ceramic filter rods is carried out automatically by pulses of pressurized air. The emission of VOCs at the outlet of the filter unit is guaranteed to 10 mg/m3.

The filter unit is equipped with heating of the filter pack to limit condensation inside the filter unit. The ash discharge from the filter unit is solved by means of a tight double flap placed on the needle hopper. The scalping fan is supplied by the investor.

For a boiler output of 1000 kW, a filtration unit with 256 ceramic filter rods with a total filtration area of 72 m2 was used. The ceramic rods ensure that the filter medium will not be burnt by unburnt fuel.

Ceramic filters are used for flue gas dedusting in boilers up to 2 MW output. For higher outputs we install electrostatic filter units from SaveEnergy, which we represent exclusively in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Flue gas filters

G&G Ceramic JET-B flue gas filters are designed to dedust flue gases produced by burning solid fuels in combustion sources. Due to their design, the filter units are used for dedusting of biomass boilers.

The basic characteristic of the filtration devices is their resistance to hot particles and residues of unburnt fuel, which occur in the flue gases of biomass combustion. The flue gases entering the filter unit are directed to the bottom of the filter unit by means of an internal partition so that the filter unit housing is heated evenly. The flue gas passes upwards through the filter media into the clean filter chamber and then through the outlet opening into the flue gas fan.

The ash is retained in the standard design in integrated ash bins which are emptied periodically by the boiler operator. For boilers in continuous operation, the filter units are equipped with an automatic ash removal system. At lower building heights, the ash is discharged by means of a movable filter bottom and then by a screw conveyor to the ash bin.

The filtering device is thermally insulated throughout the casing and is equipped with an electric heating cable to temper the filter casing and prevent condensation of the flue gases at the moment of start-up or boiler start-up at low flue gas temperature.

The filter equipment does not need to be fitted with a needle dust collector due to the smaller footprint to allow installation directly into the boiler room.
